“Cooking Class – Wednesday, 20 July 2011″

On Wednesday, 20th of July 2011 about 70 people were attended a Greek Cooking Night in the Home Economics Room at St. Andrew’s Grammar.

Some of the dishes they saw prepared included a tyropitta (making the pastry from scratch) traditional rizogalo (rice pudding) and semolina custard including galactobureko.

It was a really successful night and we look forward to continue with many other cooking sessions from various regions of Greece.

The Centre would like to express its appreciation and warm thanks to Mrs Helen Vogiatzakis who is kindly offering this session to our Hellenic Community.

The festivities commenced with laughter and chatter by both old and young in Greek and in English. Learning about the history of the bouzouki was interesting for everyone, especially finding out about how a Turkish instrument affected its design. Its music filled the air with joy and everyone was enjoying themselves splendidly.
