
Paul Afkos
President and Chairperson
Mr Paul Afkos OAM has served as President of the Hellenic Community of Western Australia (HCWA), the Hellenic Community Benevolent Association Inc. (HCBA), and St. Andrew’s Grammar Inc. (SAG Inc.) across two distinguished terms: from 1995 to 2005, and again from 2020 to the present, making Mr Afkos the longest serving post-war president. His long-standing leadership has been instrumental in guiding the vision, restructures, growth, and governance of the group entities, with a strong focus on cultural preservation, education, and community wellbeing.
Mr Afkos is the Managing Director of Afkos Industries in both Australia and Greece, a position he has held since founding the company in 1980. He is also the co-founder of Perth Glory Soccer Club Pty Ltd, underscoring his longstanding connection to Western Australia’s sporting community.
In recognition of his significant contributions, Mr Afkos was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2003 and the Prime Minister’s Centenary of Federation Medal in 2001. These honours acknowledge his service to the business sector, the Hellenic community of Western Australia, and the development of soccer in Australia.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr Afkos enjoys spending time with his family and travelling to Greece to support his international business interests.
