The Centre for Hellenic Studies WA is dedicated to preserving, teaching and celebrating the Greek language and culture across Western Australia.

As an initiative of the Hellenic Community of Western Australia, the Centre plays a vital role in ensuring that Greek language, history and traditions continue to thrive across generations. Through education, cultural connection and community engagement, we aim to keep our Hellenic heritage alive, relevant and accessible in today’s multicultural society.

Our Mission

Regardless of where you are in your journey of learning Greek, we will find a spot to accommodate you. We offer a supportive, student-centred environment held at St. Andrews Grammar, Dianella and the Hellenic Community Centre in Northbridge, serving the learning needs of our prospective students and the expectations of our parents.

The Centre for Hellenic Studies WA offers structured Greek language programs for both children and adults, designed to support learners at every stage of their journey.

Our classes are taught by our passionate, experienced teachers from Greece who are supportive and focused on each learner's needs.
Intentionally Small classes
Classes are taught in small groups so each learner receives personalised care and attention in the classroom.

All our classes follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, giving you the ability to set achievable learning goals and track your progress.
Connection to Hellenism
Classes are a chance to connect with Hellenic culture, unlocking classical and modern texts of philosophy, literature, art and Orthodox tradition.

Saturday School

Our Saturday School program provides children and young people with the opportunity to learn the Greek language in a supportive, engaging and culturally rich environment.

Our intentionally-small classes are taught by experienced Greek teachers ensuring that each child gets the personalised care and learning they need to succeed in their learning journey.

Classes are available for students from kindergarten through to high school, with age-appropriate and level-based learning that develops:

Greek reading, writing and speaking skills
Cultural understanding and connection to Hellenic heritage
Confidence in using the language both in and beyond the classroom

Our program supports heritage learners and students from non-Greek backgrounds alike, fostering a strong sense of identity, belonging and pride in Greek culture.

We currently offer two classes on Saturday. You only need to choose one from the following:

9AM-12PM – St. Andrew’s Grammar
3PM-5PM – Hellenic Community Centre
